Investigators are investigating if the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban, Tarlac is related to the recent bust of people trafficking and online scammers in a Parañaque City hamlet.
The 10 Chinese and Filipino bodyguards seized during the police operation, according to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), may have escaped from the recently raided Bamban POGO hub.
Pagcor was supported by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, who had demanded an investigation into the event in response to complaints made by the village’s citizens.
Homeowners’ complaints that the structures did not adhere to the 3-story rules prompted the raid on May 2. They added that previous raids within their village were linked to POGO.
We noticed that Bamban’s structures and the stickers, IDs, and construction application process were strikingly comparable. Some people already use birth certificates, driver’s licenses, postal IDs, passports, local identification, etc. They’re not even able to speak Tagalog, a homeowner added.
