The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) executive director Paul Gutierrez has acknowledged that his term has come to an end.
He extended thanks to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the appointment in May 2023 and highlighted his lifetime commitment to creating an orderly media atmosphere.
Over the period he served, the PTFoMS engaged in addressing several violent attacks against journalists along with press member threats and harassment.
Further, Gutierrez confirmed the initial dissemination of a list of suspects in the brutal murders of journalists.
They established memorandums of collaboration with the Commission on Elections and the Public Attorney’s Office to protect the security and liberties of journalists over the period between elections.
Gutierrez’s appointment was terminated when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., an official within the Palace declared.
